Monte Schmidt, Director of Operations
Monte has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of the HVAC industry including commercial and residential system design, installation, commissioning and service. Since specializing in geothermal heat pump system technology in 1997, Monte has been a leader in the development of the ground source heat pump market in Colorado. As manager at Valley Heating and Air Conditioning, and then founder of Valley Geothermal, he has supervised the installation of over 180 GSHP systems in Colorado, both residential and commercial. Monte is an International Ground Source Heat Pump Association Certified Trainer and Installer.
Brandon Schmidt, Operations Manager
Brandon has been working in the HVAC installation field for many years and has over 10 years of experience in the geothermal field. His primary focus is on advanced hydronics systems such as radiant floors and snowmelt systems. Specializing in advanced control schemes, Brandon is able to seamlessly integrate multiple systems, such as gas boilers, heat pumps, and domestic hot water systems for an efficient and comfortable overall system.

Brian Fowler, of GeoSource Inc., has over seventeen years of experience in the geothermal industry and has designed, managed and installed over 1000 geothermal systems in a variety of climates and subsurface conditions. Over the past several years Mr. Fowler has been an active partner on many large commercial projects throughout the west. Recent large Colorado projects include a 200+ ton system at the Snowmass Ski Village, at 300+ ton system at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Fraser and a 22+ ton residential system in Denver. Mr. Fowler is an International Ground Source Heat Pump Association Certified Trainer and Installer.
Mr. Wayne Arde, of CanAmerica drilling, has been drilling and installing geothermal heat pump system loops since 1987. They have installed over 2500 tons of geothermal loops, including many commercial installations over 20 tons. Two such examples are the 80+ ton loop for the Colorado Springs School District Bus Building and a 72+ ton loop for the Delta Montrose Electric Association Administration Building.
