On Jan 1 2008, Valley Geothermal LLC and Blue Sky Energy Solutions Inc merged to form Blue Valley Energy LLC. Valley Geothermal, led by Monte Schmidt, had been in business for over 10 years and was one of the recognized leaders in geothermal heating and cooling systems on the Front Range. With over 120 geothermal systems installed Valley Geothermal brings great experience and installation skills to the new Company. Monte and his team have installed both geothermal and conventional systems. They have always concentrated on installing high quality systems which will provide both efficiency and longevity.

Blue Sky Energy Solutions Inc was started in 2003 by David Petroy and Eldred Himsworth. The Company provided analysis of heating and cooling energy useage for both the domestic and business market and design of high quality heating and cooling systems. A bond was soon formed between Valley Geothermal and Blue Sky with Blue Sky providing sales and design expertise. The Blue Sky team built expertise in designing and costing geothermal systems as well as high quality conventional systems.

David Petroy has over 20 years of project management experience managing technical projects in the oil, environmental geophysics, renewable energy, and manufacturing industries. He is an IGSHPA (International Ground Source Heat Pump Association) certified installer and has designed over 30 geothermal heat pump residential systems. Dave is also accredited by the Residential Energy Services Network according to the Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating System Accreditation Standards. We are bound by the RESNET Rating Code of Ethics.

Monte Schmidt has over 30 years experience in all aspects of the HVAC industry including commercial and residential system design, installation, commissioning and service. Since specializing in geothermal heat pump system technology in 1997, Monte has been a leader in the development of the ground source heat pump market in Colorado. As manager at Valley heating and Air Conditioning and then founder of Valley Geothermal he has supervised the installation of over 120 GSHP systems in Colorado, both residential and commercial. Monte is an international Ground Source Heat Pump Association Certified Trainer and Installer.

JD Best has a B Sc in Mechanical Engineering and worked in various engineering development and trouble shooting roles before joining Blue Sky in 2006. He has since become an expert in geothermal heating and cooling. He also has built up skills in the fundamentals of domestic HVAC including forced air and radiant systems.

Brandon Schmidt has been working in the HVAC installation field for many years and has built up much experience in the geothermal field.

Nancy Wheeley joined Blue Sky over 2 years ago and continues to provide dedicated skills in the office to keep everybody else out of trouble and provide technical skills where needed. She has a built up a good understanding of geothermal and the HVAC business and can provide valuable advice and initial estimates.
